Founder. Guide. Conservationist. Ugandan. Future Friend.
Patrick is a Bigodi local and a member of the Batooro tribe. Patrick graduated from Bigodi Tourism and Hotel Training Institute and is a registered tour guide with the Ugandan Tourism Board (License #UTB/TG/2024/11407). Patrick has been involved in international tourism and guiding for over 10 years. Prior to founding UgandaAfrican Safari.com and forming Reasonable Safaris Uganda Limited, he worked for The Ngogo Chimpanzee Project where he participated in primate monitoring and bird tracking. Then, he joined The Kibale Conservation Project and taught tribal communities throughout Uganda about conservation in order to unite the tribal efforts with national conservation efforts. After that, he collaborated with researchers from the University of California - Santa Barbara and the Ngogo Chimpanzee Project to start primate monitoring research within Kibale National Park. Simultaneously, he has led and guided tourist safaris for various Ugandan safari companies.
Patrick loves being in nature and enjoying the various landscapes of Uganda where he can observe animals, primates and birds. He operates his own farm. He is often reading and an avid learner who is always trying to learn more about the world around him. We call him the “Ugandan Animal Encyclopedia” because he knows the Latin, English and Rutooro names for most creatures found in Uganda. Patrick has a special passion for inspiring and teaching more Ugandans to participate in the local and national conservation efforts. His kind and open personality helps put people at ease.
Meet Patrick

Meet AshleyDawn
Advocate. Volunteer. American. Dream Safari Planner.
AshleyDawn and her partner have family in Uganda and met Patrick during their first safari to Uganda when they traveled there for a family wedding. Her days with Patrick and her partner were some of her favorite moments in Uganda. Within hours of meeting Patrick, she noticed how Patrick was so many things: a wildlife scholar, a gifted educator, a respected mentor, a beloved community member, an ambitious young person, and a super generous soul.
During her time in Uganda, AshleyDawn observed how most, legitimate, trustworthy safari companies were owned by Europeans or non-Ugandans. That troubled her. Uganda has a long history of British colonialism and is both an emerging economy and a young democracy. As a business owner herself, she knew how easy it was for a young person in Texas to start a business. She offered her mentorship to Patrick on how he might transition from being a safari guide to the owner of a safari company.

Over the past two years, AshleyDawn and Patrick met regularly to create this company. AshleyDawn volunteers her time to the marketing, customer service and booking operations of the company. Visiting Uganda changed her life. She fell in love with the culture, the natural beauty, the people, and the food. She wants other people to have the same chance to be transformed by all that Uganda has to offer and teach us.
